She moved to Carson city, Nevada in order to attend a wood sculpture apprenticeship instead of going to college where she learned to use a chainsaw and make sculptures like benches and signs. It was one late night in the studio when she was talking with her teacher, the head sculptor at her college and he told her; 'one of the most significant things he everlearned in life was the importance of following your number one passion and not your second or third, because you will only be truly great if you're doing what you really love most'. So she took his advice given and quit and told him she was going to learn to play guitar and be a musician, and that's exactly what she did!
